Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American singer and actress is very well-known. As a child Sara was targeted for racial discrimination by a lot of Americans. After she participated in school contests and received great praise for her performance when she was in the ninth grade the young girl started to gain confidence. It not only boosted her confidence, but it was also a change in the direction she pursued in her professional career. At the age of 22 she was a graduate of New York's Julliard School. In the year 23 she started her professional career, making her debut on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films featuring You've Got Mail. The biggest accomplishment of her career occurred with her portrayal of The Lady Of The Lake as Spamalot's initial Broadway production. Not only did she get the Tony Award, but her performance was also well-received by critics. The following year, she appeared on the ABC series Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider appreciation for her performance. Known as a singer she also released a single and an extended play. In addition, she has been an advocate for LGBT issues.
